Super hooks, smashout energy and aggro-rap vocal performances from Lhex. “Bad boi” features the kind of energy that’s helping to build Lhex’s reputation as a hip-hop hero. This underground artist is quickly building fame and tunes like “Bad boi” are a huge part of the reason for that. The song dive in full force, exhorting listeners to be proactive, stand up and take charge in their own lives – and to have the discretion to know when to take the bull by the horns and when to stand back. The song urges the listener “to wake up and understand, know when to be passive and when you should not,” explains Lhex. Lhex’s life has always been saturated with music, and from a young age. His father was a gospel singer and Lhex inherited his dad’s musical talent. Unlike some in the hip-hop genre, Lhex’s strong church background enabled him to live a positive life and stay out of trouble. Lhex began his foray into hip-hop through participation as a dancer with Overflow, as well as other groups. From there it was a short leap to rapping and performing as a lead vocalist. Eventually, he hooked up with cohort Mr. Ice, with whom he recorded an R&B single, “Came To Get Down,” from the album of the same title. Lhex performed strongly in the Blueberry Hill awards, “beating out 25,000 entries in the rap category.” He is also a producer and is collaborating in that capacity with one of Atlanta’s hottest hip-hop artists and has worked with Steve Ewing of the Urge and other big name artists.
