POP Music Ltd./ Popular Music Inc. was founded by Keith "I. Write" Freeman and James "Rhythm Ghost" Ferrell in 2007. The duo started the label after Rhythm Ghost departed the band Tye Dye Skye in which he was a percussionist. The two started as producers and engineers, then later became artist. In June of 2007 the POP Music signed it's first distribution deal with Priority Distribution for physical CD sales. Later that year POP Music Group sign one the first major online distribution deals with Catapult Distribution, making them one of the first internet labels.

In September of I. Write recorded "I Used to Love Her" as a title track for the upcoming independent film directed by Mark Harris and produced by 555 filmworks. The duo paired up on December 2007 to release the first album "Pardon the Interruption and sold and streamed over 50,000 copies worldwide. In early 2008 POP music Group signed one of the first exclusive agreements with myxer to sell ringtones.

March 2008 marked a milestone for POP music Group as I. Write's single "Stretch" off his solo album released later that year entitled "Kinda Blu", made its radio debut.

In 2009 POP Music Group was fully incorporated, changing it's name to "POP Music Limited/ Popular Music Inc". Among the first artist signed was "Sug Free". Her debut single "HD Flow" has recieved outstanding reviews. In February "Sug Free" release her another single "Live Live" from her upcoming album not yet titled...

Rhythm Ghost also released a single this year entitled "Yo DJ" which has earned him a huge underground success. His debut album "The Encounter" is set to hit stores late this year.

As for I. Write, well he's right back at it. This time with his highly acclaimed single "It's Cool" off his sophmore album entitled "Press Release" avaiable June of 2009.

POP Music has come along way in the last two years and from the looks of things, we expect no slowing down.....
