|Sunny Lowdown||Brattleboro, Vermont, United States of America|
Sunny Lowdown plays the raw, deep blues, complete with strange tempos, unorthodox tunings and eerie overtones. Drawing from the music of John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Lightnin’ Hopkins and R.L. Burnside, the Sunny Lowdown trio’s sound is powerful and rhythmic, laying down an infectious beat. Some have described Sunny’s music as “swamp music”, but to Sunny it’s all the blues, a music that infected him at an early age. While still in high school Sunny backed up the great John Lee Hooker. He then went on to work with many of his favorite blues musicians: Howlin’ Wolf guitarist Hubert Sumlin, Muddy Waters pianist Pinetop Perkins, Chicago blues legends Otis Rush and George “Wild Child” Butler, Fat Possum recording artists R.L. Burnside and Cedell Davis, and many others.
Sunny Lowdown performs with a trio consisting of Sunny Bottom on standup electric bass and Sunny Tubs on drums, both world class musicians in high demand.
